Coffee For A Cause: The Mission Continues

Posted by Mitchell Hamilton on

It's May and the official kick off to summer is in just a few weeks.  I am talking about Memorial Day Weekend. The grills come out, the lakes fill up with boaters, but lets not forget the reason for the holiday.

Memorial Day is a federal holiday for the remembrance of those brave men and women who gave their lives while serving in the armed forces. Originally called Decoration Day, it was established in 1868 just after the Civil War as a time to decorate the graves of Union soldiers with flowers. Now, Memorial Day is to honor all who died while in military service.

This month Combat Coffee + Tea is proud to give up to 20% of our profits to support The Mission Continues.

The Mission Continues is a Nonprofit, Non-partisan organization, founded in St Louis that is dedicated to empowering veterans who were lucky enough to make it home to find purpose through community impact. They are dedicated to bringing together veterans and innovative community organizations to create change for communities in need all across the country. The Mission Continues deploys veteran volunteers to cities nationwide to work alongside their nonprofit partners and community leaders to solve challenging issues facing their communities: improving community education resources, mentoring at-risk youth, eliminating food deserts and more.

This allows veterans to build new skills and networks that help them successfully reintegrate into normal life after returning from military service while making long term community transformations and inspiring future generations.
